Saying Good Bye To Champagne and Hello To Chores!

The beginning of February, my partner Sam and I moved to Queenstown from Christchurch to pursue a career opportunity for Sam. This meant leaving behind our newly purchased first home, much loved friends and family and my developing career in marketing.

This was an exciting opportunity and also a daunting one, starting from scratch in a new location.

Shortly following the move I found out I was pregnant with our first child, both Sam and i were so excited as we have always wanted to be young parents!

While living in Queenstown I realised meeting like minded people and pregnant woman was a lot harder than i expected. I live in one of the most beautiful locations in the world and love it here.

Although i couldn’t help but feel isolated and alone not knowing anyone, then add to that a dose of pregnancy hormones and it wasn’t proving to be the easiest journey.

That leads me to this blog, being the first of  my girlfriends to be pregnant it was a daunting change socially and living in a location where i knew no one, i quickly realised i needed to connect with people in any way possible.

After trawling through social media i decided a great way to connect with other soon to be Mum’s was to create an honest blog about the up’s, down’s and straight up truth of this motherhood journey.

I hope to connect with women who are also diving head first into the world of pregnancy and babies!

I have just stumbled across your blog as a fellow mum blogger from Sydney and possibly moving to Queenstown! About to put our house on the market and if it sells we are moving and I won’t know a single person either! I hope you have settled in and met lots of other awesome mums! Congrats on your gorgeous baby too!

Thanks for all the details. Adventure travel is about possibility, discovery, and delight. The highlights of an adventure are often unplanned and can only be discovered by being open, smiling wide, and saying yes to opportunities, people, and places.

Couldn’t agree more Natalie. Opportunity presents itself where you often least expect it 🙂 xx
